From Big Pharma greed to political exploitation, the war on drugs is a war on people. Our guest is Dr Charles LeBaron, author of Greed to Do Good: The Untold Story of CDC's Disastrous War on Opioids.
that one time when they eliminated illiteracy, unemployment, and doubled life expectancy, then defeated the nazis... oh wait, nevermind, that was the Soviet Union government...
yeah, the US govt is awful and should eat 10 bags of dicks
This episode brought back memories of my post surgery bunion removal. Ever since giving completely natural childbirth two times, I have had a low pain tolerance. The 5mg. hydrocodone was of no help. My doctor finally ended up writing the script for 10 mg. after much pleading on my part. The pharmacist didn’t want to fill it but my sister, an attorney, argued persuasively and brought my meds home!
A host of profit motives and in part good intentions combined with utter incompetence and idiotic policy make for one helluva crisis… always reminds me of the “great success” of alcohol prohibition in the 20’s and 30’s…
Phenomenal episode and guest! Unfortunately, I can relate to this one more than any others, as I've also had personal experience with opioid addiction. Listening to the discussion brought so many memories roaring back, and I can't wait for tomorrow nights Macro n Chill as well. Commie John is right, it's gonna be lit AF 🔥 for sure.
great convo… Tuesday should be lit AF…
fun fact, Tool’s first album (6 song EP) is named ‘Opiate’… and it hits so hard, it could probably be a Narcan substitute
Great stuff as always. #ClassStruggle exists in all industries under #capitalism and #BigPharma is no exception to this.
When has the US government cared about our health or our safety?
